How do I demo a Lyngdorf 1120?

I am in the market for an "all in one" streamer and speakers. I have lined up demos of the Uniti Atom, Evo 75 and M10v2. I would also like to try the Lyngdorf that everyone on here seems to rave about.

The trouble is I cannot find anywhere near me that can offer me a demo (I'm in Norfolk). I've looked through the list of dealers, and all the local ones (ie within 2 hours drive) have either stopped stocking them, or are Home Cinema specialists who do not stock speakers I am interested in (Focal, Dali, MA etc). I appreciate that some companies are offering home demos, but I don't currently own any speakers!

It looks as if I will need to travel further but wondered if anyone had any dealer recommendations please?

Try Tom at Cinehome or Rich at Seriously Cinema. Both regularly post in the dedicated 1120 or generic Lyngdorf threads. You could also talk to Rob Sinden at Gecko.

We also offer home trials on many products, so if you are struggling, you could contact the sales team to see what can be arranged. I know we are being a little more flexible on what goes out due to the showrooms currently being closed due to readjustments being carried out :smashin:

I’d suggest Analogue Seduction in Cambridge.

They stock the Lyngdorf 1120.

They also stock Neat, Spendor, Definitive Technology, Acoustic energy, and plenty more speakers.

I’d suggest you get a listen to the Spendor A2s, Neat SX5’s Neat Alphas, and the Acoustic Energy AE509 to start.

I’d also try the full Lyngdorf set up of 1120, MH2 and a BW2 as well, it may be all you need.

Lyngdorf are opening their U.K. offices April 1st, so you’ll likely see more dealers popping up around the country - best to get in touch with them and they’ll let you know who will be the nearest.

The issue of going to a dealer to listen to an 1120 with different speakers is whether or not they have the time to run RoomPerfect every time (or in advance and store the files) for each speaker setup. It takes around 20 minutes for each speaker setup. If they don't, and I doubt they will for 'several' sets, is that you will not get to hear the real benefit of the room correction which is what the 1120 is all about.

Good point - but to be honest I would be happy just to demo it with one set of speakers as long as they come into my price range.

You can use one pair of speakers to hear what RP does, and then try a number of speakers without RP to get a feel for which amp/speaker combination suits you. You could even start off doing that, and then try the pair you prefer with and without RP.

We are stocking the Lyngdorf range of streaming amps - and soon an MP60 in our cinema demo room.
We'll have the entire range on display if we can help in the future for any northern based customers :)
