How do I contact HM customs?

I need to check if a DVD has been held up in customs, as this is what DeepDiscountDVD are suggesting may have happened to my LOTR TT 4 disc set. I tried the 0845 phone number that is given on the HM Customs, but it rings for a while and then says 'it is not possible to connect me'? Does anyone know a number I can call?

Also, I do not have a tracking number, only the company who sent it, the shipping company (USPS) name and date it was shipped. Will this be enough??

Try this page for a list of telephone numbers for UK Customs here.

If it is the same number as the one you have been using try it again I used it the other week and got through, and used it the month previous.

that sounds strange as lotr tt box set is under the customs limit.
they shouldnt have stopped

im not too sure about this maybe someone else can shed light on this.
