    Hi

I need to completely unistall Norton (symantec) anti virus - I mean all traces of the programme from the system.

If I run the uninstall, do I then need to delete symantec's info from the registry, if so how?

Will I also need to uninstall all other symantec products (firewall, utilities etc?)

    Thanks

all i do is uninstall from add/remove programs and then delete the symantec folder in the program files directory. Well thats what i do when my 12 month license has ran out and i need to start again :)

The complete (without trace) removal of many Symantec packages is not always straight forward. If Baggy69's method does not work for you then Symantec's support page used to include guidance on full uninstall of their products. The following Link should take you to the relevant Symantec page.

    http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/consumer.html?asa=loadskip

It is not obvious where to find information on unistalling but follow "Installation issues" and perservere.

Be aware, you will probably have to edit the registry.

    Good luck
