I have my TV in the bedroom connected to my Sky+ box (thats in the room above my bedroom) using a 3m s-video cable. Although this set up gives be better picture quality than using RF, how do I now change channel from my bedroom?

You need to use a Magic Eye connected to the RF2 out on the sky box.

    John,

Just so that i'm clear connect a Magic Eye to the RF2 out socket using standard satellite cable, and then don't bother to connect the Eye to the TV as I don't need to transmit sound or vision via the Eye?

That's right, standard coax from the RF out to the magic eye but no connected ot the TV. You need to switch the RF outlet 'on'. The magic eye comes with instructions but, to get to the option, press Services, 4, 0, 1, Select.

Im not very savvy with sky unfortunately, so at the risk of sounding stupid here goes.

I have sky plus in one room and a magic eye transmitting the signal to another. but the screen in the second consistently flickers. is there anything i can do about this?

Also is there anyway i can change channel is the second room?

The magic eye has nothing to do with "transmitting" the signal to another TV. It is there purely to enable remote control of the Sky box.

Do you still have the instructions that came with the Eye?

Perhaps if you told us the make and model number we may be able to help.
