I have no wish to purchase a dvd recorder as i am very happy with my PVR for time shifting recordings from tv, but I would like to backup my home movie collection from VHS to DVD using my PC's dvd writer. Do i need an imput card of some type to do this? i guess i would also need some compatible software.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Tim.

Cheap capture card = Packard Bell TV-100 available from PC World.

Lots of software available but others will be better placed to offer advice as I haven't ever really done this.

    Best of luck :).
