how close is too close?

    How close can you put non-magnetically shielded speakers to a screen. I guess its different with all speakers ( as the magnets used differ in size) but does anyone have a guide. I like the look of the B&W 602.5 s3 but don'nt have a lot of room either side of the tv. thks in advance

    My old Kef RDM1´s were´nt shielded and I had them about 8-10 inches either side of the tv without any problems.

    The Kef´s arent particularly big speakers though.

    No general rule as it depends on the magnet as you said, though at least 1 foot is recommended.

    If you put on an AV channel without a signal you should get a blue screen, if you see any change in color (towards green or purple) at some areas the speaker is too close ...
