As above really, just took back my samsung 245b and got a dell 2407 hc on its way and was just wondering if its easy to tell if you have 1 dead pixel.

Im kinda thinking that it might be quite hard if your running it at 1900 x 1200, is there any tests that you can do to easily identify dead pixels?

Many thanks,

Mark

Hi.
i can recommend a really great utility. a 'dead' or 'stuck' pixel might display certain colours, but not others. get this one from authors site :

http://www.geocities.com/tvdarekz/

scroll to bottom of page for Monitor Test (Monitest.exe), & check out the screen shot.
it has loads of features, but real simple point & click tests.
(if you google, there are a number of monitest.exe out there. just get this one)

its a great tool to take with you when purchasing a monitor, especially s-hand !!

Just get it!
