Hi. Can anyone one tell me how to check the firmware version of a LG RZ42PX11. Can it be found out by the serial number when ordering it, as I would like to know I'm getting the latest one . If it can only be checked when I've already paid and had one delivered then I could luck out! Hope I'm making sense, I sort of know what i mean, hope some of you do!!.
    Thanks.

The serial number gives it away.....

If it starts 502 then it was built in february 05.

Where are you getting it from?
I recently had mine delivered from John Lewis and I was initially concerned as it said through the grill on the back that it was manufacturerd in Dec 2004, but it turned out to have the 5.14 firmware installed.
Unless you're getting it from a very low-volume shop, I doubt you'll have a problem with old firmware.

Once you actually have the unit up and running, how do you know what firmware version you have ?

Daipac - To check your firmware hold down menu on the remote facing the tv for ten seconds then hold down menu ( at the same time ) on the tv for ten seconds, a hidden menu will come up showing firmware and other settings ( don't change anything ! ) press yellow to cycle through menus.
