How bad is the service from BT broadband and phone

i am an existing BT customer using BT sport I am trying to activate BT broadband and phone line.

28 hours laters with a confirmed order via email 2 online chats a failed credit check ( I have not missed any payments in 15 years with anyone) and three one hour phone calls I appear to be no further forward than I was yesterday.

Is this standard procedure for BT broadband and phone shall I swerve as I completely unimpressed with their customer service.

If BT is not working out, give virgin media a try, the speeds on the internet are rapid, the tv package is great and BT sport comes as standard. If your intersted I can get you a £50 discount which will be credited to your account, once your up and running, each friend you refer will earn you a further £50 of your bills! And the person you refer will also earn £50 so everyone is a winner
