today when the snow is soo thick!!!
Got a text message from director advising to stay back at home and if possible work (VPN in to company network) from home
I'm on a train right now... Damn C2C and there professionallism! Even in 2 inches of snow, you can still set your watch by them!
Not going in if i can help it
About 6 inches here,no way I'm chancing it!
Silly thing is, i was out and about last night and in the past when its been cold the gritters have been everywhere.
Last night on the other hand, i didnt see one. Seems strange considering the forecast has been fairly accurate the last few days.
Looking out my window, mains roads are completely covered practically impassable.
Easy, there is no work.
Foot deep of snow in London, buses and trains cancelled.
Will turn on the xbox after breakkie
They've even suspended the underground!!!
I'm walking...the office is only a 10 minute walk away
Crazy I live 12 miles from London and my work place and yep no trains or buses running and 1 driver available at the local cabbies office but won't even go to Lewisham so I could use the DLR.........sigh
I've just got home after a night shift... I'd seriously advise anyone that can avoid it to not drive.
I'll be walking up the stairs to my office just as usual
Same here, plus we only had a very light dusting of snow last night in Bristol.
which trains are canceled? im trying to check if the train going into walthamstow is canceled. if it aint i can take the undergroudn to victoria line which is the ONLY line without delays ATM!!!
i dont want to look as if im looking for excuse to dodge work
Well all South Eastern trains are cancelled at the moment only getting as close as Gillingham at the moment
I've still got my snow tyres on so will be driving as usual, my biggest fear is other vehicles or the police blocking the road, not the snow itself.
Tiptoed round Local roads, motorways as normal.
No duvet day for me! plus i found out the hard way that i have a hole in the bottom of my shoe....
South west trains are all over the place, walked to the station this morning as there are no buses running in London, I was confronted with an hours wait and hundreds of people already waiting n the platform.
Looks like I'll be working from home today then
i dont think i can get to work mate. no chance. snow is very thick! my boss says to try and come lol. i might phone in an hour and say i tried lol. in an hours time of trying i would probably reach the end of my road by then!!
very bad conditions and the funny thing of it all is that is STILL SNOWING
The national railway website is not working either!!
I'll be shirking from home today!
Having said that our webmail is down at the moment so can't do anything, hence lerking on here, might go and make a snowman in a minute.
I'll be jumping in my car as usual and driving.
Judging by some of the responses here, no wonder companies bring in foreign workers instead of a British workforce
I've got no change of getting in. No buses and trains, no one to call in at work and our websites down. Never mind
with 4" of snow here and the forecast for another 4" not much chance even with 4wd
been hysterical to watch the 3 people that have tired to leave, 2 didnt get 1 car length, note the beetle now parked sideways as they cant get it back
haha where not lazy. we dont all drive land rovers with snow tires and live next to a main road
Don't do it!
Even though you may make it into work, how are you going to get back? I mean its still snowing pretty heavily...
that is true. plus it will snow more later
How am I getting to work today? in my dreams!...lol
I dont drive, I live over 5 miles from work so cant walk (if I didnt have dodgy knees I might have attempted it), I doubt work will pay for a taxi and tbh not sure I trust a taxi in this weather and its still snowing fairly heavily so I dont want to be snowed in AT work.....they only have 3 machines with proper net connection, I'd go nuts
On the plus side from my employers POV, the job I do isnt going to be badly affected as its mostly correspondence based at the moment, can do that anytime, customers will be aware to expect delays in replies for the next week with this weather....lol
Where abouts is everyone. I'm in Romford and it's still coming down heavy
Dorset and the sun is trying to come out
Currently sat in traffic on the m25 at junction 9 (I think). The traffic hasn't moved for 30 minutes. I just want to turn around and go home!
