House Of Cards Season Six - cheap-skate packaging

I recently bought Season Six of HoC to finish the story. All the previous five sets have come in decent Box Set Amaray cases designed for easy access and decent protection.

Not so with six. Low grade cardboard packaging and a bugger to remove the disks. Why do they spoil things by doing this? Surely not a move away from plastic to save the planet? :(

Yes, that's it. Thanks for posting the video. As he pointed out it's not easy to remove the disks without getting fingerprints on the outer part. Personally, I'm not bothered about the digital licence but the packaging was a major disappointment.

Digipaks are usually only on first pressings, if your in no rush wait for the standard release on the next pressing then buy it

Season 6 has been available for several months. I’m hardly likely to buy it again just for a better pack.

I think he meant for future reference.
That’s why I wait for Agents of Shield season boxsets. Initial release is always digipak, then later on they release it in a slim amaray case.

Same happened with the Twin Peaks (original series) Blu-ray boxset.

There should be a requirement for details of packaging to be included in the sales blurb. Just so people know what they're getting. My main concern is not that it's cardboard but the difficulty of getting the disks out without putting fingerprints on them.

Thanks hippo that exactly what I meant. Sadly when you offer advice or information on here to a question asked you get shot down by some members.

Seems to be quite a common trend. If I look through a lot of my box set series, the earlier seasons are invariably much better in terms of packaging etc.

Pretty sure it's simply because of dwindling physical media sales. Pretty sad...

Shot down? 🤔 I hope you're not suggesting it was me who 'shot you down'? I did say in my first post I had already bought it.
