    hi chaps i know this isnt the right forum but cant seem to find pc forum, i got a problem with my search engine, when i launch the internet i get
    www.hotsearchbar.com
    come up even when i go into internet tools and put it back to normal and apply after a reset its back !! ive looked in remove programs and the search engine isnt there help as its driving me mad!!

    Yup definately Spyware as i've had that one. Get Ad-aware installed (i use ad-aware 6 but there's a free SE version you can download as posted by CTU's finest!) and run a scan to get rid of it. :thumbsup:

    excellent. keep the programs , update when the become available and scan weekly and you should have no problems

    This sounds like the Startpag.MH trojan that infected my PC and took ages to get rid of. Embeds itself in your RAM and re-directs you to the "motherpage" every time you go to your homepage. Re-sets your homepage every time too.

    Not destructive or malicious, but very annoying nonetheless.

    It can be stopped by deleting various files in your registry editor. Note that whilst Ad-aware can detect it, it cannot delete it itself - you'll have to do this manually.
