I have sent to and received a email from Black Hawk Down support telling me to open port 17479 so that i can use my p.c. to host online games of Black Hawk Down.

This must disable the firewall on this port i guess ( please advise if i have this wrong ! ).
Does opening this port leave the p.c. open to hackers e.t.c. ?
    Thanks.

I have also been told that if i go into Zone Alarm options and tick allow server next to the game this will allow players access to the game.

Does this leave the p.c vulnerable ???

I also tried to open port 17479 in my firewall but it does not seems to work. Im using ipcop as my firewall, im also blocking some ports, only allowing the ports needed like smtp and ftp, when i want to play online i have to diable the port blocker on the firewall, no one can tell me what ports i must forward, i also try to do a port scan on the game server but had no luck. Did you had any luck yet???
