    Hi guys,

    Another quick question !! :)

    I have noticed sometimes I can see a slowly rolling "darkening bar" moving up the plasma (and looping around to the bottom). It is noticeable on static screens DVD (thru component) (when there is nothing much happening), and was really noticeable on an episode of the Simpsons (the pure untextured colours probably had an effect of highlighting prob). its not a black line or anything, it is a smudgey horizontal stripe that has the effect of darkening the colours in the picture as it moves.

    I have looked for the prob on Cable TV (SCART) and was fairly sure that it was only present thru the DVD source until Simpsons on Sky 1. So it looks like it is possible to see effect on all my sources.

    This kind of implies its the plasma itself, but I was wondering if anyone knows the typical cause of the effect. Is it noise in the cables (or mains supply) or does it sound to you guys like a genuine fault in the plasma?

    My component cables are pretty good (60-70 quid) and short, but my mains power is just thru cheap four-ways etc.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    regards

    Paul

    <bump>

    Any thoughts guys ? Still trying to sort it out. Have tried swapping things out. Not often noticed unless there is a fairly still scene when it catches your eye.

    Found someone else that has experienced the same thing. Thought I would post back here though as the "all-in-one" section is not as lively

    It sounds like a hum bar. Try disconnecting everything then plugging in one item at a time to see when it appears or if it is always there.
