Homehub 3 to Tp link TD-W8960N

Hate the Stupid BT homehub 3 which we have been using for a while on our BT infinity fibre (Fiber?) line.

Swapped it out last night with a TP Link TD-W8960N:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TD-W8960N-300MBPS-Wireless-connections/dp/B0031SUB4S

Lan speed on ethernet connected devices is still about the 65-75mb area.

Problem is our wireless speed has dropped from 30-50mb on the homehub to 2-6mb on TP link... What have I missed? I'm quite rubbish at this router stuff so was wondering if anyone more qualified might be able to point me in the right direction.

looks like you have brought the wrong thing there. thats a ADSL modem router you have BT Infinity which is VDSL.. you need to get a VDSL modem router or the best thing to do is get a router and use the BT Openreach modems (the white one) i have happily been using a Asus RT-N66U for a year now its brilliant. but if you want an all in one soloution you can look at the Fritzbox

Link for fritzbox
FRITZ!Box 7390 Simultaneous Dual-Band ADSL2+/VDSL Wireless-N Router w/ NAS, PBX, VoIP & DECT (600Mbps)

Link for asus router
Asus RT-N66U Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Fibre Broadband Router (900Mbps)

the links are for reference they may be cheper elsewhere so shop around!

Ah, I see. So it isn't any good! I kinda just guessed that since i'm still using the BT provided white box I could use the TP link as a replacement for the Black Homehub part and continue to receive full speed wireless!

OOPS:facepalm:
