A bunch of lads in USA compared the "economy" PB-10 with a reference quality sub with quite startling results.

    Review is here

It says 3400cu.ft. in the review.

Assume an 8' ceiling & divide that into the 3400. Then take the square root and the answer comes to about 20ft. square.

    Let's assume it's not absolutely square. Somewhere around 25ft. x 17ft.?

Not that big. Unless my maths is worse than I thought.

Seems like a good, independent review.

Indeed. Both Tom V and Erik were involved in the following discussion over on HTF.

The issue was the mention of slow decay as a result of panel resonance brought up by the review. The reviewer was able to reduce the decay by external clamping and mass loading of the box. Which suggests that a simple internal panel brace might be fitted to future PB10s. It is interesting that the 14 HTF forum members who turned up for the PB10 comparitive listening session made no mention of decay. All seemed genuinely amazed at its remarkable performance.

More importantly the reviewer duplicated the amazingly flat resonse, superb extension and ability to go loud and low with minimal distortion. Like other reviews the outdoor measurements make no allowances for room loading. So common to other manufacturers response and extension claims.

I can't see how anyone could be disappointed with the PB10 at this price level. But I would say that, wouldn't I?

    Regards
    Nimby
