I looking for a hi-fi/home cinema system that you can have at least 4 music zones (lounge, kitchen, out-door speakers etc). I know that the bose Lifestyle 50 system can do all this but is there any other manufacturer doing this type of setup cheaper than the Bose kit?

Well ... for starters QED do some multi-room / multi-zone system ... then moving on you get stuff from Linn, Crestron and AMX. I'm not sure if they still do but Rotel used to do some multi-zone stuff and certainly their multi-channel power amps have CEDIA accreditation.
