Hi, I was looking to make my own screen, but instead of making a fixed screen like many others, i wanted to make one that looks like a roller blind. :)

I'm going to buy 1:1 gain material from drh.

Anyone know where I can get the roller casing that is used in roller blinds, so that I can attach the screen material to that and just use it like a regular roller blind. I don't want to have to buy a normal roller blind. Just the actual casing and roller mechanism.

    Obviously you can see i'm on a tight budget. :D :D :D

I've just seen some posts about using blackout lining and they seem to work ok.

Anyone know where I can buy blackout material (I went to Paul Simon curtains but they only do ready made blackout lining)

Should I go for the blackout lining or stick with screen material from DRH?, will there be a big difference in pic quality ?(projector is an Infocus X1).

You can actually buy a black out roller blind, from ikea i think most people get them from.

Personally i couldnt get on with bo material even when painted icestorm 5/6 mix so use screen goo instead.

Got my screen material from DRH Screens. 6 foot by 5.

Its a great improvement over the yellow wall I was using for the last couple of days!

I must say thanks to DRH, as I visited them yesterday, and they are a great bunch of people (no I don't work for them or am not affiliated with them :) )

Which screen material did you go for? White, grey, high gain? Which projector are you using? Thinking about making a screen of my own for when i get a projector (will have to demo a DLP first - infocus 4805 - to explore the rainbow issue) and the choices make my head hurt sometimes.
