    Hello all,

This question may be applicable to the LCD group too. :)

I have a 26" 4:3 CRT, Sky Digital setup with E85 dvd recorder in the living room.

I am considering buying an LCD HD TV for the bedroom. Basically I need a DVD-RAM player so that I can play the recordings from the recorder downstairs. I will be getting a PSP3 when they come out also.

My question is, there is a Samsung dvd recorder with HDMI upscaling.
If I plug it into a HDMI slot on an LCD will it show good HD pictures from normal dvd discs, the ones you buy and dvd rams etc?

If we can upscale from normal dvd's what will be the benefit of high definition dvd's and blue ray?

    Cheers

    Paul
