I'd say, very optomistic but not impossible... it woudn't come without it's compromises.

I'm in a room about 13ftx13ft but my PJ is 9ft from the wall onto which it projects and I get a 5ft image... that said, sitting at that distance can feel a little 'on top' of the picture. I imagine you'd be projecting from about 8ft and sitting from that close could be somwhat uncomforatble. The acoustics may also be a little opressive, Is this room your only option? If so, a Plasma and small satalites might be an option....

I'd probably also recommend a Plasma with tihs size room, i dont know whether the accoustics would suffer though, as stated above maybe satellite speakers.
My room is 11x11 and my pj is about 10 foot back, where i sit, which does throw a 6.8 foot wide image, i do feel that this is slightly too big though and will go 6 foot in the coming months. This also opens up more pj choice as it gives more flexibility in the throw distance.

my hc room is 6ft wide x 10ft with pj on screen just under 6ft,not ideal size room i know but compromises had to be made,my veiwing position is about 8ft back on a 2 seater leather setee with the htpc to one side on a 17" tft monitor, speakers are mission m71 all round with a kef center these are small but big enough to fill the room, like i stated not ideal but i'm very happy and so is she who must be obeyed,a smaller screen may give better pq and leave room down the sides for speaker positioning but that is something for the future as getting hitched soon so a spending freeze has been placed on me,
go for it you'll love it.

My converted spare bedroom is 6 x 9 ft and with my PLV Z2 I manage to acheive a 6ft screen size. Both the seating and projector are on the back wall. I say go for it.
