Home Cinema volume control via tv remote?

Sorry for a noob question, but i have just bought a samsung 5.1 surround dvd.
I have connected everything up, and is working well. i have taken audio out from my Pany lxd70 into the inputs on the amp (HT-P10)

but when i adjust the volume on my tv, obviously only the tv volume adjusts and not the surround amp.

Is there any way to control the volume output from the tv?
I really don't want to have another remote just to adjust the tv volume!!

Thanks for any help :)

If you have a surround amp, that should provide the sound to your speakers. Adjust the sound on the amp's remote and it should alter the volume to your centre speaker etc....

The tv volume should be muted. No sound should come from the tv.
Put your tv remote away in a cupboard.

At least that's the theory:thumbsup:

Many surround sound systems will be supplied with a remote that can be setup to control other equipment, ie your TV. If yours can do this then set the remote to the TV and then use that and store the TV remote.
If the remote is not programable then your only option is to buy a universal remote that you program for TV and surround as I don't think TV remotes are normally programable.
