Fancy a go at building your own?

    Just came across this:
    http://www.lumenlab.com/

May well be a pile of big nylon pants, but makes interesting reading!

(apologies if this has been mentioned before...)

yep,I came across this when looking at my pj options.

It looks good but to be honest I really couldn't be bothered with all the hassle and ending up with something that looked embarrasing :D

I decided on a Z2, manual screen, aego P5 speakers and decoder and a HTPC.

All this cost approx £1500, which I think is pretty cheap considering the cost of a plasma!

Not spent too much time looking at it, however, it appears you need $20 for the plans?, a similarly worded project is available on TomsHardware, all (detailed) details available freely.

Basically its an OHP with an LCD panel taped onto it. You know what it might work but its kinda bulky and will likely only give you the approx performance of a veryvery low end LCD that would comparatively fit in your hand bag.
