 Wow!

Looks like Acer's much anticipated 32 inch HD-Ready LCD TV has finally landed (AT3201W). Is this the very first sub-£1000 32" HDTV? Looks a beauty! Full review with some tidy pics has been posted here:

·HD-ready display prepared for 720p and 1080i high-definition content.
·HDCP-compliant DVI connection ready for hi-def Sky TV broadcasts
·Best DVD video quality with 3:2 / 2:2 pull-down recovery
·Minimized motion artifacts via noise reduction
·Sharp and accurate images via comb filters
·12ms (gray to gray) response time
·SRS® WOW™ technology (3D stereo) immerses listeners in full 3D sound.
·TruBass® delivers rich, deep bass sound.
·FOCUS® enlarges sound imagery, producing a taller,
wider field of sound with a broad sweet spot.
·Fully detachable speakers.
·Wide-ranging connections including two SCART, one
component, one S-video, and one composite terminal.
·Connection to PCs with VGA and DVI-D (HDCP), as well as PC audio-in connectors.

I want one!

Isn't DMTECH a Samsung in another dress?

I've read somewhere on this forum that they are Samsungs budget range

Hi JackFlash. Agree spec. looks great. Can't find any info. on specs on either acer uk (page for multi-function lcds appears to be down) or on global.acer.com. Do you have overall dimensions, I need to make sure it will fit!

anyone actually get one of these yet? they're down to 799 now on dabs!

Anyone know if it copes with NTSC and 60HZ signals?

Taken from the Acer Website.

It does look good, I was planning on getting a 26" Philips for £800, but I will have to see if i've got the room for a 32" instead and get this for the same money.

I e-mailed Acer about this, it does not support NTSC but does support PAL 60 hz.

so what would happen if i set my dvd play to ntsc and played a us dvd?

Well as the signal output to the TV would be NTSC it wouldn't work.

Having said that i have a chipped PS2 which i run all US NTSC games through and they play fine, however i assume that is because they are just running at PAL 60 hz and not outputting an NTSC true signal. As my Sony tv does not support NTSC playback.

I could be wrong about all this though, i'm sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me if i am.

Pure NTSC playback is considered an essential feature by many, me included. If this really has been left out by ACER, it could be the death knell for this as a value LCD screen for home cinema use. Anyone own one who can confirm whether or not it can playback NTSC discs in pure NTSC?
