    From Jeremy Saulnier (the excellent Green Room) who says that this new movie contains his highest body count so far

    Here’s the first photo with Alexander Skarsgard from Empire, who spoke with Saulnier about his most ambitious movie to date;

    Hold the Dark is a film adaptation of William Giraldi‘s best-selling novel, and it’s written by Saulnier’s longtime friend and collaborator Macon Blair, who wrote and directed the excellent and under-seen I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore for Netflix in 2016.

    that looks decent but, you know, Neflix movie and all that, I guess it's best to keep the expectations low. It does look good to me though.

    Blue Ruin and Green Room were superb so hopefully this will overcome the 'Netflix movie' stigma.

    To quote: a grim and pitiless journey

    The critics love it, i thought it was average. Not memorable

    Dark & foreboding, a genre story of murder and mayhem, unexpected plot twists, some neat action with a hellish shootout centerpiece, not as good as Green Room 8.9/10, the plot is left open 7/10

    Not seen Blue Ruin, hope to do that this weekend

    Ooh this reminds me that I have Blue Ruin on disc but have never watched it!

    Might give that a whirl first, I loved Green Room!

    Blue Ruin was great edge of seat thriller! With good plot and great lead. I had no idea what it was about, thought it was about a drug addict.

    this was a blueprint for Green Room.

    Made a change not having iwell known actors, but ordinary looking joe's taking the leads 8.8/10

    After this I'm doubly disappointed in HTD

    Agree with all of that, And that shootout is tremendously choreographed. Truly terrifying! A shame then that I disliked the ending so much. I'm afraid that I needed some
    catharsis seeing either or both of the murdered boy's parents getting their comeuppance. To see the screwed up pair of them wander off together didn't do it for me.
