Has anybody ever done one of these?

I have a 1 hour HOGAN assessment next week. A quick Google shows that it is some kind of competency based questioning but I have never heard of it.

    Any pointers?

Just googled it, looks like some sort of personality based testing, probably a load of hocus pocus.

Just be yourself, unless you're a Dexter, then just lie.:D

I dare you to go in dressed in red and yellow spandex with a bleached-blond handlebar moustache and then rip off your T-shirt while telling them to take their vitamins and say their prayers...

(Sorry, appreciate that's probably not helpful, but as a child of the 80s I couldn't resist.)

Personality tests - they can be fun if you do two and show completely different traits.

No, I have a 'special' personality for interviews
Got a possible role in Bristol so I may not have to move and had the estate agent around to look at the house. It's worth quite more than I was expecting!

Oh right - thought you'd already hung them up for some reason. Does that mean you managed to get a mortgage approved as a contractor? Probably didn't need one :p </nosey>

Yes. Rules all changed. All I had to provide was a contract with 3 months remaining and 3 months worth of bank statements. They then took both our salaries and multiplied them by 1,200!! Bonkers!! That is with the Halifax as well, not some dodgy back street place.

Only problem I can see is that we haven't actually moved yet and if I take perm before we complete the mortgage might have to be redone.

Just think, with the £10 a month pocket money my two girls get they could club together and buy a 250k house . It would solve their current sharing a room problem :)

I had to sign on to a website 24 hours before and take three individual tests. Each test had 250 questions and you had to say whether you agreed, disagreed or were undecided. The questions were things like: -

People listen to what I say
    I like the arts
    I like going to parties
I would like to learn to scuba dive.

HR then used the answers to produce 3 reports which showed what you were like on a standard day, how you react when stressed and a third showing your general outlook. There were a few things I didn’t agree with but it was quite accurate in other areas. I had to talk through areas which they pulled out and give examples.
