I have little faith in HMV but it will be interesting to see what they can offer.

Not been yet - but saw an advert on tv last night and judging by the things they mentioned it seems worse than Virgins.....
Anyone been in yet to save me the walk into town at lunchtime ?

I was passing Covent Garden store on the way into work this morning at 9 when it opened so waited with the few people outside thinking that I might be able to pick up a bargain or two. Walked away with nothing. Maybe I missed something but I didn't see any of the '1 per customer' that they've had in the past. Overall a complete waste of time and nothing cheaper than I've seen elsewhere.

Went into the Bolton shop this morning and got "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" seasons 1, 2 & 3 for £44.95 apiece.

Noticed the also had "Star Trek: The Next Generation" box sets at 40 odd quid and "Babylon 5" series 1 & 2 at "29.95 each.

Also a few other odds and ends including a nice surprise in the shape of Jules Dassin's "Rififi", one of my favourite movies that I didn't even know was available on DVD.

Will try the much bigger Manchester store this evening.

    DVD FRENZY!!!!!

Agree with tjgedny - popped in to my local in London on the way to work and found nothing of interest. Got a free lollipop though..which was nice.

Strange in solihull Babylon-5 box set 1 for £29.99, box-2 for £39.99. At £29.99 each I would have bought them both.
    Oh well HMV's loss.
    I think?

I wonder if there will be a 5 series boxed set later.

£39.99 for S2 in my local as well. Think this has to do with the fact that S2 had a higher RRP than S1 in the first place.

Went to the HMV at the Bentalls Centre and picked up the first series of 'Ultimate Force' for 9.99 & 'The Italian Job' for a tenner as well. Not a bad bargain I thought, and there's plenty of other dvd's, boxsets etc and loads of cds as well. Have a nose around if you're in Kingston!.

I saw this in a HMV brach in the 3 for £20 and was going to get it with Muder by Decree and The Vikings I saw the week before but The Vikings had sold out. I went in at weekend and Them was about £9.99 and not in the sale. Not unless the had sold out of the sale copies.

got Cinema paridiso for the second time for 9.99, and The Elephant Man for 5.99 - not bad.

Now I just need to flog my original Cinema Paradiso - apparantly my wife prefers the theatrical cut, not the directors one.

Just picked up Blondie's Greatest Hits DVD
(they were from my era) for 8.99 although it was labelled as 9.99, the receipt said 9.99 and the shop assistant said 9.99 but he gave me £1 and a penny chang from a tenner.

Always feel quite good with myself when shops under charge me (no guilt), even if it is just a quid :)
