HMV are one of the worst shops in have ever encountered, they are always more expensive, I dont know why anyone would shop there!

You can get some good deals at HMV stores. I got 'Our Friends in the North' boxset for 24.99 - Hadn't seen it cheaper elsewhere.

And I bought 'Jam' for £9.99 from HMV. I don't think they're any worse than Virgin on prices.

    Appreciate the tip arcam.

Don't automatically assume that HMV's sales will be crap...in the last one I got Persuaders: Complete boxset for £19.99 instead of £69.99...also Hammer Horror Vampires £9.99 instead of £19.99, Norman Wisdom boxset for £24.99 instead of £59.99 and Protestor's: Season #2 for £9.99 instead of £19.99!

They also shipped them out a quite stunning 42 minutes after ordering!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have actually bought something in this 2:1 sale - the monster collection Bride of Frankenstein and Dracula dvd’s because Universal seem to be about to delete them from their catalogue and the only place I saw them any cheaper was Splash (ahem) :p:

Got Gangs of New York from Cd-Wow though :smoke:

I now refuse to even consider buying anything from this organisation. (HMV)

Some sale items I bought a few years back were apparently repackaged that many times that an item I purchased came complete with a crust of bread in the box.

This was found when the security tag was not cancelled at the checkout.....or should I say the one in the box wasn't.

On stepping outside the shop I was apprehended by a security worker who asked me to step back into the shop for the item to be checked over.

When they opened the box...another security tab was found inside complete with the offending nasty looking crust......I never did find out what originally adorned it, nor it must be said, did I care.

Being not very pleased about being apprehended and ushured into the store, I asked what a security tab was doing inside the box, which was wrapped in cellophane.

He told me that it was more likely to be a returned item from another store and repackaged for resale.

As far as the crust went..... I reckon I'd have been better keeping that than the actual goods.

The other day whilst in HMV I came very close to losing my rag.
It just p****s me off when they deliberatley hike up (most of) their prices to £19.99 in this 'BOGOF' offer. Considering some were only £12.99 a few weeks before when bought alone.

It's when I saw Predator SE for £23.99 in the offer when I saw red

Even Morrison's pulled a similar stunt with their Sara Lee cakes a few months back
