    Sadly many are not savvy enough and easily become victims.

    I'm sure this thread will highlight this in the next few years.

    I've just had a tax rebate. Took two years though. You will get a letter informing you of the amount. There are two ways to get the money and I quote:

    You can get your refund fast, straight into your bank account, if you claim online through your personal tax account. Go to www.gov.uk/p800refund. Request your refund online within 45 days of the date shown on this letter, and you should get your money within 5 working days. If you don't request your refund online, you'll get a cheque in about 60 days.

    They will on no account get in touch by e-mail.

    Mind you looking at the grammar and punctuation on the letter it could very well have been a scam!
