Hmmmm... most odd.

Maybe this is a simple one and that I'm being incredibly ignorant - but if anyone can make a suggestion then I'd appreciate it.

My TV died this morning, and I had to buy a new one. Previously, I had my amp connected to my VCR via a set of audio leads and I could get sound out through my stereo.

With my new TV, I can still do this... however, the new set has got audio sockets on the back - so I figured I could bypass the video and connect direct from the amp into the TV.

Except it doesn't work. When connected like this, I can't get so much as a sound out of my TV via the amp. When I reconnect it via the VCR, sure enough the sound comes booming out of both my TV and my speakers.

Am I doing something ridiculously obvious here?

Hiya Greg... it's a Sony something or other - but I've sorted it now.

It's to do with the sound system. You either have the audio through the speakers or an external sound source - not both. By running it through the stereo you bypass this, and can have both on.

Helps to read the manual in detail!
