no experience of the Sony 75-300 but I do have the Tamron 55-200

TBH it's not the best lens in the world and not worth anywhere near £150, focus is very slow and hunts a lot in low light and images are not that sharp.
I think the Sigma alternative has a better review score on Dyxum and costs around the same used.

I paid £50 on Ebay for a used example in mint condition, in original box with instructions, lens caps and UV filter.

I bought the A200 with standard kit 18-70mm lens, and based on the deals you posted I would buy the base pack at £299 and buy the accessories as I need them. It may cost a few bob more but then I would get exactly what I want.

I have bought:

Sony A200+ 18-70mm £349 (bought a couple months ago)
2GB Memory card (free)
2x 4 GB Memory Cards £19.99 total price.
Minolta 75-300mm lens from ebay £40 (used)
tamron 28-105mm lens from ebay £19.99 (new)
Sony camera bag from ebay £20.99 (new)

I would def recommend at least a 4GB card if you are going to shoot in Raw mode as each picture takes around 10MB.

a200 from argos 299 with 18-70 lens

PLUS go to jessops and look at the following---add to basket and put the code LENS10, you will get 10% off the following lens which is a lot better then the tamron and the sony.

total cost is 444 with a better lens

If you after a very good memory card 4GB and the best price check this---

right before i jump in to this and buy my self a A200 do i need a filter or the like to protect the lens??????????????

My advice on a filter to protect the lens is ... don't bother. UV filters are often bought to protect a lens but , imo, they aren't worth it for a cheap lens. Cheap uv filters also affect autofocus and image quality. Just keep the lens cap on when not in use. Better off spending the money on a circular polarizer filter, as these will do some good for your photography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photographic_filter#Polarizer).
