Has anyone ordered HL2 through Steam?

I was thinking of doing it, to get the Silver Version, as I want to play HL1: Source, but I don't really want to get hit for a sales tax that I shouldn't have to pay.

Anyone who ordered it, did you get hit for tax? How much was it?

Yep I ordered the Silver package through Steam and they add 17.5 VAT onto the price.

    Worth every penny though

Is it definitely worth it? I'm now having second thoughts as it seems that HL:Source isn't actually that great, just a few nicer textures, and the improved physics engine, rather than a total conversion.

Would you definitely say it's worth the extra over the bronze package?

I have the silver and am extremely disappointed with HL Source. I live in hope however that the chaps at Value do a complete texture makeover and give it the source it deserves.

I got Silver via Steam mainly for Dod Source , when it eventually arrives. For me worth the £40 i paid alone.
HL2 and HL source were just the icing on the cake :) and delicious icing i may say as well.

    Stupid question alert !
Do you only get these extras if you buy on-line ? If I were to buy the game on DVD would I be missing out ?

If you buy the current retail version, all you will get is Half-Life 2 (inc. deathmatch), and Counter-strike: Source.

If you want HL: Source + DoD: Source, then you've either got to buy the collector's edition when it comes out over here, or the Silver or Gold versions from Steam.
