    Hi I have a Yamaha 773

    I just bought a hkts 11 5.1 speaker set.

I have 2 Monitor Audio MA202 floor standers for my front left and right.

And at the moment I'm using a pair of Kef 2005.2 on stands as surrounds .

I have been recently using a mission fs1 centre and sub .

And also a hkts 7 sub and a pair for heights/front presence.

Although hkts 7 sub and mission sub are the same power the mission sounds like an ant farting compared to the hk.
Although mission full is the same hk 1/3 -1/4 up , the hk sub makes the windows shake at 50%.

    So my questions are

Which are better Kef 2005.2 or hkts 11 sats? I can also get extra Kef eggs no problem.

Do I need 2 subs and can they be placed back of the room behind/sides of sofa ? The seats vibrate in films.

And if I were to use the speakers I have where would I use the kefs?

I was thinking using Kef as rears ,hkts 11 as surround and heights , leave the floor standers where they are and not sure about subs as may sell hkts7( 2sats and sub).

Any help or input will be much appreciated.

If you have both speakers, why not listen to them both and make your own mind up. I use HKTS-60's as rears in my setup and they sound fantastic, but can't comment on the HKTS 11's.
As for the sub, if the HK sub sounds much better, then use that, and if it's loud enough for you, you are better using just that rather than adding another sub to the situation as it can cause interference and comb filtering, especially as it's a different sub with a different response.
IMO, the most important speakers are the main L&R's, and the centre, and then the sub. the surrounds/rears,height speakers less so. In fact I am actually using my extra channels in my receiver to bi-wire my front B&W's rather than bother with front height speakers.

    Thanks for the response .

I have tested some speakers as the have arrived now.
It's just a mission testing and rewiring .
    I like them .
Many people say you get better sound with 2 subs just wanted a view if this was true.
Both the hkts subs on their own are beasts for my size room.
But being behind would help and I'm not sure but is front better?
I will prob sell the mission package it's just the sub fit nicely under a built shelf in the corner.

I guess I wanted some kind of confirmation which was better Kef or these hkts 11( which hkts 18 with bigger sub) .
I have no idea how the hkts 11/18 differs from yours.

Do you find bi wiring helps?
    And how much difference?
    Thanks

The HKTS60's are cannot be bi-wired, but I do find bi-wiring my B&W 603's improves how they sound.
I have no idea what the difference is between the HKTS11's and the HKTS 60's, all I know is the 60's are the current flagship satellite speaker range from Harman Kardon, and sound pretty amazing for their size, as did the sub to be fair, but the JBL Sub I upgraded to goes an octave lower and matches the B&W's better being a 10" rather than an 8", but I never even considered using both subs as for me the JBL is more than adequate for my room on its own.

    The hkts7 goes down to 35hz and the hkts11 20 or 25.
Both look and sound the same both have sameish weight and 10inch downward firing bass reflex driver. Very happy but heard 2 helps with better balance.
I would be bi wiring monitor audio floor standers .
Just seeing what difference it makes if any, for movie or music.
Although I may have to get heights to lift centres as I have a 110" screen.
