Has anyone done a direct comparison between these two players? I currently have the DVD25 and am very happy with it but was curious if something like the DV88+ would be a big improvement! (considering you can buy 2 or 3 HKs for the same price!)

Well, having now owned my Arcam for a little while, I'd vote for it.
The quality is quite obvious and should put the HK to shame. Haven't seen the HK, but I have great confidence in the Arcam as imho it blew a Primare V25 and Pioneer 737 away in performance.

Take into account build quality, component quality, design etc, it really is a much better machine in every area.

The question is, are you willing to pay for it when a HK can deliver a pretty good performance by all accounts from other owners here?

Hopefully I can arrange a loan from my local dealer, so I can do a direct comparison. I'll post the results on Friday!
