Anyone seen this one on the HK DVD25 - be sat watching a film and all of sudden I get subtitles appearing, interestingly not all speech is subtitled only some.

I have sent the default lang on the player to english and I have not set the disc to display subtitles.

    Any ideas??

    Rob.

Sounds like a problem with the player induced by Layer Changes on Discs.

My advice is take it back to your dealer & inform them what's happenned.

This appeared to be a problem with the "dynamic picture control". If part way thru a film subtitles are required i.e. a different language is spoken the player kicks in with subtitles - but then fails to switch them off again. A real pain with TTT or Ronin. Forget the comment about not all subtitles now been shown - I have the TV on zoom so any subtitles appearing in the borders did not appear.

Switching the dynamic picture control to off solved the problem.

I get the same with Toshiba 420. No idea how to stop it though apart from only watching films with the subtitles burnt into the picture!
