    Does anyone know how exactly this receiver implements Logic 7?

    I used to have a HK 5000 and loved L7.

    What I'm thinking of doing is changing my Arcam AVR 200 (used as a processor), for the HK.

    Thoughts please.

    Thanks.

    Guy - I think the old HK only used to be able to use the L7 in 2 channel config but the new HK AVR's should be able to use them for 5.1 sources aswell not 100% sure though.

    Now that would be really good. Budget Lexicon. :)

    Only snag is the huge hurdle presented by my wife. She hated the old HK so much she wouldn't/won't entertain even a demo fo the new ones.

    Her defence of the Arcam being harmless and ok is the very reason I'm considering a change. :suicide:

    The older HK's (430 etc) won't let you apply L7 to 5.1 sources. You'll need the new 635 model for that and it also comes with a rather decent Room EQ system, going by posts at AVS. :)

    Seen that.

    The current one is definately stereo to L7 not the 5.1/7.1 to L7. :(

    You should maybe wait for the new 435 (this spring). From finnish forum:

    "Upcoming AVR435 has the new TI DSP (same as Denon A1XV). 435 has the same "perfect" Logic7 as Lexicons."

    "Does 7.1 from 2.0 PCM/DD/DTS signals, can convert 5.1 --> 7.1 DD/DTS and expand multich analog-input (for example SACD/DVD-A) 5.1-sound to 7.1 channels."

    430:
    "The old "limited" Logic7 can make 7.1-sound only from 2.0 PCM-signals."

    PL2x:
    "..is limited to do PCM 2.0 --> 7.1 ja DD/DTS 5.1 --> 7.1."

    Seems like a reliable source, of course you should ask H/K to make sure. Hope the translation didn't mix you up. :smoke:

    Edit: 435 has also EzSet-EQ and upconversion. (to 430)

    Almost pointless buying a Lexicon.
