Hitachi Viewlink compatibility

    Anybody know if Hitachi tv (C32WF535N) with Viewlink is compatible with a Toshiba VCR (V711UK) with NexTView Link ?

    I don't think Viewlink and NexTView link are the same. It is my understanding that Viewlink allows communication between a TV and a VCR and is Hitachi's version of;

    Q-link - Panasonic
    Easy Link - Philips
    Smart Link - Sony
    TV Link - JVC

    Viewlink is also partially compatible with the above (not all features supported) and can communicate with a VCR supporting one of the above.

    NexTView is broadcast by some TV companies and gives program information on screen (much like Sky and NTL do). You need a TV and a VCR that supports NextView (like the Philips 32PW6515) to be able to use it. The Hitachi TV does not support NexTView.
