Finally bought an amp and speakers after MUCH deliberation and posting.
Nothing spectacular - Mission FS1av and Denon 1802 - I know it is discontinued but it was cheap which was the main thing.
    Anyway....
    Considering now my first projector.
Out of the two above which do most tend to prefer?
I will have it floor mounted (well table!) about 2m from screen.
Panasonic seems the cheapest but what about lamp costs and life for either of them?

Will want to take advantage of component video and PAL progressive scan at some stage - looking at the Sony 930 player for this.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Andy76,
I have the new Hitachi PJ-TX10 hooked up via a Denon AVR1803.

I have no experience of the Panasonic PJ but decided to go for the Hitachi due to the following features: x2 zoom lens, lens shift and a more aesthetically pleasing design (IMO). This very flexible PJ allows me to use my (non-dedicated) lounge for big screen entertainment.

Additionally, the cost of replacement lamps for the PJ-TX10 is in the order of £150 I believe.

    Hope this helps.
