Got my PJTX300 back in November 06. Richer Sounds told me it was perfect for HD films and gaming. Xbox 360 was obviously out but I told them I was down for a PS3 in March 07. they told me this was the projector for me so I paid good part of £900.
Problem is, now I'm a bit more clued up and the PS3 is out I realised my kit isn't Full HD. They never mentioned this at Richer Sounds!!

Does anyone else feel a bit cheated to be stuck with a 720p projector?
Its a good projector for less than 1K but it's not 1080i. I would have paid the extra for a higher spec had I known about Full HD back then.

PJTX300, Cambridge Audio Azur 540 Amp, Cambridge Audio DVD. Tannoy 5.1 Surround.
Games Console - still trying to decide!!!

I think you'll find its not 1080p (rather than not being 1080i) -1080i on my TX300 looks great!

Although I've never seen 1080p in action, 720p is great and it is HD, so don't feel you were let down by Richer Sounds. As some folks claim, depending on the display a great looking 720p can be better than a poor 1080p display.

Oh, by the way there is already a thread with this title, so it may get confusing!

Re Richer Sounds - in all honesty they couldn't have been more helpful. Hats off to those guys for helping me out everytime I went in (even if I did come out with a new cable and £20 worse off each time!);)

To be honest with a gaming console I can't see there being that much difference between 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

I think this projector is perfect for hd films and gaming ect and to be honest I would rather set my pj on 720p rather then 1080i as its progressive which I find gives me a smoother picture. as for 1080p don’t hold me top this but I’m not sure you will find a pj at this good of a price that is 1080p most TV have only just started to support 1080p.
If it was just for the use of an xbox360 then the 360 has most of the games done in 720p, they have provided a 1080p dashboard udate but if you are running it through the component cable then im sure you aint gonna get 1088p as its analogue where as the version 2 xbox 360 due to be releases has hdmi out on it so that should be better and able to produce 1080p like the ps3.
I would love to see a pic of the ps3 running on the pj if you have any.
