I've noticed on my new 42pd7500 a kind of optical distortion as camera pans across scenes (and whole image transverses the width of the screen).
It's like looking in one of those distorted mirrors, and kind of rippling effect during pans, but fine during more static scenes.

Any noticed this on Hitachi screens?

I have engaged Panel extend 1 and Luminance manager, not sure if they are to blame at all.

Have you tried turning them off and checking again? Then you'll know if it's these that are to blame.

Is it accross the whole image or just the edges? Could be the result of a 4:3 broadcast being stretched out over the whole display.

I've discovered a Film Mode setting (Picture Menu) which was set to ON which does seem to affect camera pans.
Problem occurs on analogue 14:9 material and SKY broadcasts (box set to 16:9 output).
