I have a Hitachi Illumina 43" RPTV Widescreen that now has the Sky One logo in the top left, Sky News logo in the bottom left and the Active logo in the top right. The set is 18 months old and although in operation most days it is by no means hammered and brightness/contrast are at reasonable levels as per the manual. The manual does state "to avoid logo screen burn change the aspect ratio" which is not really a viable solution because all pictures look incorrect and stretched.
Can anyone clarify who is responsible for the screen burn, Sky for transmitting useless logos, Hitachi for producing a vunerable set or me the consumer for watching TV in the correct aspect ratio?
Is it worth me persuing the matter with Sky, Hitachi or Trading Standards bearing in mind the age of the TV and £2500 or am I resigned to watching all TV with ugly yellow logos in all but 1 corner of the screen?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

There is a feature of on this in this months HCC.
I think you should send a letter to SKY, I had the same problem with my Tosh 40", but as it was a rental set i just sent it back.Bought a philips 32" and a DLP projector instead.
But do send a letter as I am sure many people have this problem and unless SKY are told they will do nothing about it.
If they have enough people complain they might make the logo transparent or even completely remove it, if this happens you can then send them the bill for new tubes
I dont know why they think I need reminding what channel I am watching.
If this becomes a real problem the only thing the logo will do is stop people from watching the channels on wich they are diplayed.

Im writing to Hitachi, BskyB and if that fails then the BSC because damage has occured under everyday viewing and why should I foot the bill when Ive done nothing wrong. Damn shame though the Illumina is a beautiful set and I may have uncovered its flaw.
