Hitachi DZMV2000 dvd camcorder??

Just been looking at this in store, any comments on it?? Also the guy in the shop said it would only play back on panasonic dvd players can anyone confirm or deny this?

My only comment is that the guy in the shop was mistaken.... sort of. This camcorder can use either DVD-RAM discs (re-writable), or DVD-R (write once). It is true that DVD-RAM isn't widely supported by set top DVD players (and is primary, though not only, Panasonic). But DVD-R can be played by virtually any player.

On the other hand, if you were to go for a Sony DVD model, it uses -RW or +RW as a re-writable format... which is more widely supported.
