Apparently this is brand new out this week.
Is anyone thinking of getting one.
Not heard of this model. Do you any more info?
Could this be the PD7500? It's been out a little while and is exactly the same spec as the PD7200 but it has a Freeview tuner. I think TVandVideoDirect are doing it for just under £2k.
Just rang Hitachi now and found out they were released at the same time, though when i rung up Tv and Video Direct this morning they told me it had only been released this weekend!! hmmm.
Ah well. Am more tempted now to go for the built in free view model, though is it best to buy the box separatly or does it not matter. As more people have seemed to go for the 7200 rather then the 7500
The reason most have bought the 7200, is that the the 7500 hasn't been available until now, at least here in the UK. I don't know what Hitachi are on about .
I bought the 7200 recently, and would probably have got the 7500, if it had been available, although it makes little difference as I'd already got a Freeview box.
The main benefit of getting a 7500 would be that the multi-picture mode populates the windows off the built in tuner, so is a bit useless with the inbuilt analogue tuner on the 7200, and will be no use at all come analogue switch off in 2012 .
Ah right, that clears it up
not too sure what you mean by this though
The 7200 doesn't do picture in picture (PiP), apart from with a PC input as the main picture, but has a multi-picture mode that has one main picture with 3 smaller pictures down the right hand side of the set. These "thumbnail" pictures are fed from the internal tuner as I understand it. On the 7200 this limits you to only seeing channels 1 to 5 in them, whereas on the 7500 with a Freeview tuner built in you would have a lot more channels to choose from.
Hope that makes slightly more sense .
Ha ha ha, yes it does. Thanks alot for your help
