I'm not too sure, but this may have been a Pioneer clone. When researching RS232 communication protocols for Hitachi displays the information I received for this model was the same as the Pioneer data I received...

Remarkable powers of deduction. The glass is Pioneer's, probably not this year's, the contrast is lower, and brightness. But then it's a bit cheaper. Not sure about connectivity, but Hitachi don't usually skimp. It doesn't seem an amazing bargain bearing that in mind, but better than average.

    Hi Rob,

At that price it seems a bit of a bargain - Ivojo are selling it for £5727! As has been pointed out, it is a Pioneer clone although the brightness is less than the 503MXE - the contrast ratio (900:1) is the same. Of course it has a video card slot like the Pioneer and so is upgradeable to DVI-HDCP or HDMI with forthcoming cards. Hope this helps.
