Have just taken delivery of one of these beauties and am just finding out how other Hitachi owners have their's set up.

I've trawled through all the threads and found a few settings but not sure how to interpret them as they all seem to be using number to represent settings when there are no numbers on the settings screen.

Below is an example I found:

    Contrast 35
    Brightness 40 (lower at night)
    Colour 35
    Sharpness 0
    Contrast mode Normal
    CTI Low
    LTI Low
    YNR Low
    CNR Low
    Black Stretch Low

Now does 35 for Contrast mean 35% or 35 'clicks' from min. I think there are 62 'clicks' from min to max.

    Cheers

    Marco

I suspect the settings are approximate % for the settings shown as bars and the menu settings for the others.

However why not try to set the screen yourself using the THX Optimiser screens from DVDs like Star Wars or any Pixar picture?

Weird - Iwas just about to ask the same question - I had my set delivered yesterday (excellent service from NexNix) and although I am VERY impressed with it (but then I should be for £3000 !) I am not too sure what the best setting are.

I did a THX optimiser test on it and that made me turn my brightness up (I am a little paranoid about keeping the contrast and brightness as low as possible to decrease the chance of screenburn and prolong the life of the panel).

I am not too sure what are the best settings though - so I too would be grateful if someone who has had this set for awhile could post their settings as a guide for me (I know everyone likes slightly different things but a rough do's and dont's would be be great!)

The above are % settings. I've ahad mine for 3 months now. All my settings are just about, or slightly below 50%. I'd start about there and after a couple of months, when the screen has had a bit of time to run in, do a bit of slight adjusting to suit your taste.

Have just double checked. Settings are slightly different from what I stated earlier, as I amended them about a month ago.
Working through the picture option pages:

    P.1 Preference...........Favourite
    White Balance......50%

    P.2 Contrast...............60%
    Brightness............50%
    Colour...................50%
    Sharpness.............50%

    P.3 Contrast Mode.......Normal
    CTI.........................Mid
    LTI.........................Mid
    YNC........................Low
    CNR........................Low

    p.4 Black Stretch..........Low

    Hope this helps.

No idea. I can't remember what it said in the instruction manual, but from memory, it didn't seem to make any difference when adjusted.

Horizontal scrollings, on Bloomberg for exemple, are sometime worse with Cinema. In an other thread, they say it's about FPS : 25 on normal, 24 with cinema.
Doesn't see any difference with films !
