    Hi all,

I've seen reports of faults on the Pannies.
Fair enough, new technology has problems, so I'm not concerned.

I see Panny have a problem with PCB's.

Does anyone know of regular faults on Hitachi plasmas???
and how do they handle things???

    TIA

Sorry, but start a new thread!!!!

To answer your (3rd time of asking).

    Buy the PW7

    It's good.

    225E??? never heard of it!!

If you are worried about cables, don't renew your TV at all :smashin:

If you use SKY only, why worry about a tuner???

As for sound, stick with standard speakers, please, it's easier :smashin:

And please stop hijacking my threads :smashin:

Not sure on the 7200 but the most common problems on previous models, the 3000 and 52XX, were buzzing and a 'grey cloud' effect on the screen when displaying dark pictures.

My 3000 had both problems and was eventually replaced by Hitachi with a 5300 which suffers from neither.

I've had no problems with Hitachi customer support but others like, I believe, Nick_UK wouldn't touch a Hitachi again...

Cheers for the input John

Hopefully I'll never have a problem, but it's still nice to know.

I suspect that, after 12 months, with only a single dead pixel, it highly unlikely that, however good the service, Hitachi will do anything about it.

I would have thought a single dead pixel is nothing to worry about.

Can you see it when viewing stuff ???

The buzzing and grey cloud issues affected a whole generation of Hitachis, more recent ones appear to be as trouble free as most modern electronics. THe PQ also seems more reliable (that used to be very variable), but then they are no longer cheap compared to most others, about par for the course in fact. The PCB issue with panasonic affects about 2% of 6 series, the 7s appear trouble free. The most complained about plasmas are now, in order of awfulness, bad to worst, are Samsung, LG and triumphantly bringing up the rear, Tiny!

I noticed it in the second week ,but if i used the hubble telescope i might be able to spot it from a ft away lol. :rotfl:

Not too fussed about it anyways ,as long as the tv works and gives a good picture when i turn it on, that's all that matters to me .
