    Hi all,

I'm trying to understand the difference between these two screens. It seems that if you take the 55PMA550E, add the optional stand, TV tuner, speakers and video input board, you get to the 55PD5200. Is this correct? However on the datasheet it seems the 55PD5200 supports 720p(@50/60) via DVI and 720p@60 via Component, whereas the 55PMA550E just mentions 720p@60. Can anyone confirm this is the difference between the two TVs?

The 55PD5200 goes for about 3950 whereas the 55PMA550E is about 100-150 cheaper including the video input board (I don't need the stand, TV tuner or speakers), however if the 55PD5200 adds 720p@50 via DVI then it's probably worth the extra.

    Thanks
    Phil

Not sure where you got your info from but the Hitachi site clearly states it supportd 720p 50/60 through the DVI.
