    Hi

I have an Hitachi plasma 42PMA400E and the Pioneer DV-668 conncted via component cables. When I switch on the progressive scan on the DVD player I can't determine any noticaeble benefit in the picture quality or the stability of the picture no matter how long I stare at the display.

I've tried NTSC and PAL DVD's, encoded with and without 24fps but I just can't tell the difference.

I expected to see a difference after reading all the high-fi mags but can't. I've also checked out a Pioneer plasma in the shop I bought my plasma from and couldn't notice any difference in quality with that plasma connected to another DV-668 or a DV-868 when progressive scan was switched on or off.

Any ideas why this is? Am I missing something here?

    Iain.
