Hitachi 42PD7200 Scart Connections

I am a fairly new owner of a Hitachi 42PD7200. The instructions provided seem to give contradictory advice on connecting devices to the 3 scart sockets. I've currently got my NTL Set top box connected via RGB SCART to AV2, Is this correct as it also says (in the Booklet) to connect it to AV1. I've got my VHS recorder fitted to this. Whenever I switch the Video on to record it automatically jumps to this channel. It is not the end of the world but is a tadge annoying.

i connected sky to av2 as well. i think it DOES say in the manual to do this but the diagram is a bit confusing
