Yes please!! please please could you also keep an eye out to see if they have improved anti-aliasing. Most other manufacturers have algortihms and other electronics that work together to produce nice smooth edges on curves. At present my 5200 isn't doing a great job at all. Also the 5200 also suffers from blotchy patches with moving images. I know that Pioneer and Panasonic have a work round. Hoping that Hitachi has added some magical stuff in the 7200 that helps reduce this.

    hi folks,

well i went to horsham to view the screen and all i can say is that i am going to get one.

first of all the screen looks much better and sexier than the 42pd5000 range.

they had the tv in a separate room with a dvd connected, sky and a ps2 which i thought was awesome.the dvd qualty was awesome, great sound and the picture i thought was the best i have seen.sky was good as well but the best was ps2,i was playing gt4 on it and i thought hang on i in the game silly i know.as for the blacks on the scene i would only say the better one i have seen is the panny veira screens,my friend has got one and its awesome, but overall i think this one shades it.
the great thing about this is that you can move the telly while you are sitting down and having a beer, one touch on the remote and the screen swivels around, how cool is that.
as for the price they did admit to getting the price wrong and not £2,173 but around £2,490 but they said the price would be coming down soon.

well i hope this helps but for me if you have about £3000k to spend i would go for the panny veira with stand but i would go for this.

    until next time :hiya:

Yeah this is what took me away from the hitachi, totally wanted it because of cost and hd ready, but i saw some hd stuff on it from the northpole, and the edges were horrible, can only imagine how it looks on normal feed, don't really understand why it got such rave reviews from magazines...

Excactly my point. As a owner of a 5200, I am not happy with it all. It really cant handle movement really well. Also edges are very jaggedy! I really do think the magazine should give a seperate performance score with the TV running terrestrial and sky. I'm sure the results wouldn't be as good!

My 5300 whilst it does have its faults, doesn't suffer from jagged edges. As an example for anyone familiar with Sky News. On the banner at the bottom left where the red part curves down, the curve is perfectly smooth with now sign of jaggedness.

BTW: Sky connected via RGB Scart.

PS, saw the 7xxx series the Smart Home Show yesterday and they looked stunning running hidef material. Styling looks good too.

My 5200 suffers BIG TIME with jadded edges on the Sky News logo!! How odd tho, Hitachi tells me that the 5200 is superior than the 5300.

Hi, guys I have been looking to buy a plasma TV for over 3mths. Pany was looking fav, then after reviews I was swayed to hitachi 42PD5200 . Then i seen this model Hitachi - 42PD7200 . Now i have took the plunge. My main reason for this post is to inform u guys of the best available price so far seen on the net £2,094.00 with free delivery. Sounds to good to be true i thought. Got mines on 6mths interest free. cheek this out at Robertson's ................... http://www.robertsons-online.co.uk/get_product_details.asp?P=117188  : :hiya: thumbsup:

How is Hitachi in the 4:3 broadcast > 16:9 scaling department? As good as Philips? (lost interest in Panasonic due to the unnatural wide heads on this brand)

There's a review of this unit on page 54 of the June 2005 What video & widescreen TV.

Generally it looks like the best price from a reasonably-sized distributor online is £2,025 (delivered). There are a whole bunch of companies doing it for this price, some with 0% finance options. I used kelcoo to list them up. They include Digital direct, Sound & vision, RGB Direct, Digital Point and 121 electricals.

You >may< get it cheaper, but whether that would be from a reputable firm or not...? or whether you'd have to pick it up yourself..? Got a landrover to drive it home in??

Oh, and the review is very positive by the way. Don't expect I can say much more than that without breaching some sort of copyright somewhere.. Put it like this - from what I've seen thus far, I intend to pick one up!

    Hope that helps!

i bought a panasonic camcorder from them, when it arrived in manchester from them, the lcd screen was faulty. i spoke to them and they said send it back and they would replace it. i decided to take it back personally. they are in west bromwich. good news they swopped it for a new one straight away. dont know what it would be like with a plasma though.
