Ok. Have 'run in' the 7200 for about 250-300 hours.

The picture is beyond my expectations and fantastic on DVD, Sky and even analogue is not horrible.

However, watching footie on sky - everything looks great - except the pitch. Banding and solarisation - sometimes it looks like its melting..esp. on a fast pan.

Now can any 7200 owner advise if they have/had a similar experience and suggest any solution? I am using THOR scarts for all connections.

And without seeming rude, could we avoid people telling me what I should have bought, or that Plasma X is better etc..

    Any help happily received...

I have had the Hitachi set for just under a week and I get a similar problem on football as well.

The picture is good and the players look OK but whenever the camera pans across the pitch the grass looks as if it is out of focus and then it sharpens up.

I have just bought a new Thor scart (awaiting delivery) hoping this would fix it but I guess from your setup it won't.

    Dudez

Had same problem with satellite through RGB cable.

Turn down settings like Contrast, Brightness, Colour, Sharpness etc.
I took 2 months playing down with settings every now and then to
    obtain my favourite picture.

From experience most screens are better viewed with some
enhancing modes and technologies set to off. Funny eh!!

But that's how it is :D

there you can find quite some settings of chaps who own a
    42PD7200 or its predecessor 42PD5200.

Now I just bought a Denon DVD1920 and I have same problem
on the HDMI port but will play around with the settings and
hopefully get rid of banding here too!!

Good luck and happy testing :smashin:
